In the realms of film, television, music, and social media, the year 2022 is expected to usher in a new crop of stars primed to become the next big thing.


2022 is expected to bring us a new crop of up-and-comers eager to make their mark in the profession. While some of these emerging artists may not yet be launched, they have the potential to become such and establish themselves as artists to watch. Keep an eye out for these artists as we anticipate what the year ahead holds for the worlds of acting, music, social media, and everything in between. Who knows, maybe one or two of them will become your new favorite?



Jane De Leon


It's been a long time coming, but Jane will finally put on Darna's legendary outfit in 2022.


The Darna adaptation, first announced in 2014, has gone through multiple directors, lead actors, and treatment modifications. It will now air as a television series in 2022, starring Jane as the eponymous character and directed by Chito Rono.


Darna serves as Jane’s first major lead role. She has previously appeared in ABS-CBN teleseryes La Luna Sangre, Halik, and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.



Kaori Oinuma


Kaori Oinuma has progressed from a PBB Otso housemate to a future top-billed actress. The Japanese-Pinay finished eighth overall in her season and was quickly cast in Parasite Island in 2019. But 2021 was her year, as she starred as Michiko in He's Into Her and Megumi in Love at First Stream. Kaori has the potential to make it big with the second season of HIH coming out this year and other projects. It also helps that she is a member of the rising love team, KaoMiah.



Kyline Alcantara


Kyline Alcantara has triumphed over the hurdles of switching her home network from ABS-CBN to GMA Network, and she is now, without a doubt, one of the most bankable Kapuso teen artists. Their immense skill will hasten her path to becoming one of her generation's most recognized young stars. She debuted on the Kapuso Network in 2017 and has since been in a number of GMA episodes, including 'Kambal Karibal,' 'Dear Uge,' 'Wagas,' 'Maynila,' and 'I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.'


Aside from her incredible acting abilities, the Kapuso actress has also become an ambassadress for various leading lifestyle companies, including beauty, skincare, fashion, and even mobile phones.



Angelina Cruz


Angelina Cruz is just known as the eldest daughter of Sunshine Cruz. But the eldest Cruz sister proves that she is more than just her last name. Already, Angelina has appeared in several advertisements and magazine covers, and she will undoubtedly appear in more in the future. She had a minor role in Love Is Color Blind, the highest-grossing local film of 2021, released last year. For her first film, she did pretty well. She's a rising star, and we're interested to see where her career takes her next. Oh, and she's also a singer as if she didn't have enough talent already.



Andi Abaya


Were you seeking some style inspiration for your next outfit? Then Andi Abaya is the woman for you. As a PBB housemate, Andi first came to our attention, but she has since established herself as a burgeoning style star with a potential leading actress. She recently had the opportunity to showcase her acting abilities alongside her love team partner Kobie Brown in the series Saying Goodbye. Keep an eye on this since she has a fun attitude and a great sense of style.



Belle Mariano


Belle Mariano, 18, also started her career in the show Goin’ Bulilit. She appeared in shows such as Maalaala Mo Kaya, Hawak Kamay, Kadenang Ginto, La Luna Sangre, and Bagani.

In 2020, Belle landed the role of Gabbie, one of the 4 Salazar sisters in the film Four Sisters Before the Wedding. She also leads the He’s Into Her series together with Donny Pangilinan.

She is anchoring another Filipino series this 2022. The film Love is Color Blind is now available on iWantTFC.



Charlize Ruth


Charlize Ruth is a content creator who has amassed a following of over two million people due to her videos that have hit a nerve with many people. Most of her content has her reproducing everyday life events that make us feel as though we've never experienced anything real, such as her teacher. She's just so captivating in her videos, so it's no surprise that many companies want to work with her. Aside from cashing those cheques, she's also recently made the transition to television, where she can be seen on Quizon CT on Net 25.



Rans Rifol


Rans debuted in the entertainment industry in 2018 as a member of the girl group MNL48. She joined with ABS-Star CBN's Magic in June 2021 and began her acting career.


The 20-year-old actress co-starred with renowned actors Charo Santos-Concio and Daniel Padilla in the award-winning film Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather Is Fine).


Even though it was Rans' first significant lead role, her performance was favorably appreciated by critics and audiences, and she was awarded Best Supporting Actress at the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival.



BINI


​​BINI, ABS-CBN's P-pop female group, has received attention ahead of its official debut. They recorded a cover of the Smokey Mountain classic "Da Coconut Nut" in 2020, and the eight-member group has appeared on shows such as ASAP Natin'To, It's Showtime, and the premiere of Pinoy Big Brother Connect.


BINI published full-length albums following their debut, headlined their first large performance, and even performed in Dubai for the first time. BINI's fans can see more of the P-pop groups on their YouTube pages, where they post vlogs, but they have yet to reveal their forthcoming projects.



LITZ

Many P-pop groups debuted in the music arena last year, and we have our eyes on LITZ for 2022. They haven't officially debuted yet, which makes seeing their potential all the more intriguing. Although their pre-debut single, Natataranta, was a version of James Reid's song, they gave it a LITZ twist and an edgy flavor. Ashline, Heart Ryan, Fatima, Bianca, and Yumi all have star potential and have already performed on stage. They have a chance to be one of the P-pop groups to make a splash this year.
